The city of New York possesses a popular subculture of skateboard riding. The story of the popular series Betty is all about that. But it is not confined within this limitation. Rather it tells the story of six young women who are navigating the male-dominated world of skateboarding. The show is more about an appeal to an egalitarian society. The show just premiered on screen in May this year. Since the end of six episodes, fans are eagerly waiting for the renewal of this show. And it is glad to declare that season 2 is already on way to production.
Release Date of Betty Season 2: Sit finger crossed
Betty season 1 released on 1st May and ended with six episodes on 5th June. Despite just the introduction of a series, the popularity remains okay. Besides it got a positive response from critics. So, it will not be surprising if the production declares a sudden release of another season. And happily, executive producer Crystal Moselle says she has many more stories to tell about the life of rebel women. We may expect Betty season 2 someday in May 2021. Only if it is possible to make the production done in this pandemic situation.
The Cast of Betty Season 2: Who will be in it?
Betty is directed and executive produced by Moselle, along with Igor Srubshchik, Jason Weinberg, and Alliah Sophia Mourad and produced by Untitled Entertainment. Starring Dede Lovelace, Moonbear, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, and Rachelle Vinberg against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, it tales the story of rebel women. In 2016, documentarian Crystal Moselle took note of two of its members — Nina Moran and Rachelle Vinberg. Hearing their impressing story, the plot was written immediately. After successful screening of Sundance drama ‘Skate Kitchen’ the same cast introduced in Betty season 1. So, it is expected that there will not be any major change in season 2. And we will have Nina Moran as Kirt, Kabrina Adams aka Moonbear as Honeybear, Dede Lovelace as Janay, and Ajani Russell as Indigo again on screen.
The Plot of Betty Season 2: What will it be about?
The ‘Skate Kitchen’ is a real-life skating sisterhood group that has inspired many young women to pick up their boards. Betty took the story from that film and farther expanded. Added with the life story and challenges of woman representation in a male-dominated world. Along with it, it deals with personal issues while weaving through traffic, parks, and bridges on their skateboards. Season 2 is expected to be expanded farther as executive producer Moselle says, “I think there are so many stories to tell. And what better people to deliver the story than like real, actual young women who are in the New York City skate scene? I think that you know they’re dealing with everything that every young woman is dealing with but they have this fascinating throughline.”
So, sit down with finger crossed and wait for any declaration from HBO. Be tuned.
